DESCRIPTION:Now in its 14th season\, the Noel Ensemble creates a magical evening of words and music to celebrate winter holidays and Christmas. The concert features four harps\, strings\, flute\, and percussion. Noel is a feast for the eyes and ears\, with richly colored costumes and beautiful instruments to enjoy. \nHarpist Jill Whitman performs with 4 harpists on concert and Celtic harps\, and is joined by flautist Kimberley Breilein\, playing delightful arrangements of carols from around the world. DESCRIPTION:A fun-loving and competitive bunch\, when the Kelly brothers are not singing you may find them on a golf course\, at a Mariners game\, or playing board games with the family. The group is an award-winning A Cappella quartet dedicated to the barbershop style. Momma’s Boys takes pride in singing modern music that “the girls in their lives want to hear” which includes standards from Sinatra\, Elvis\, and The Beatles\, and also custom arrangements from current artists. Their diverse selection of music allows the Kellys to take on a wide variety of performance styles and their upbeat and engaging style delights all ages. SUMMARY:Falling Out of the Box
DESCRIPTION:Falling Out of the Box is an annual jewelry design challenge hosted by the Jansen Art Center. \nThe exhibit begins on Thursday\, October 10 with an Opening Reception at the Jansen Art Center from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. This year’s challenge\, Lost but Not Forgotten\, is inspired by the shape\, color\, and movement of lost earrings. The artist then creates a wearable piece of jewelry from it. \nArtists of all skill level are encouraged to participate – the challenge involves the fabrication of metal jewelry from supplies provided in the mystery Material Box. In order to participate\, artists register by purchasing a Material Box and then have 5 weeks to complete a piece. \nDuring the reception\, many of the artists will be on hand to answer questions about their work; there will be Live Music in the Piano Lounge with Kevin Burt that is a part of the Lynden Music Festival. The Firehall Cafe will be open and serving from its full menu of food and drinks; and attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Awards.
